Dr. Thomas Kang is a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral implantologists. He became a dentist in 2003 after graduating from the Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific. Following graduation Dr. Kang was selected as one of three candidates to participate in the post-doctoral training program at the University of Pittsburgh’s graduate periodontal and implant training program. During his tenure at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Kang conducted research on implant dentistry, specifically with regards to immediate implant temporization. Dr. Kang has also conducted research on how osteoporosis affects periodontal health in men and in women. The doctor’s first practice was opened in September of 2006 in Federal Way, and rapidly became the premier center for implant dentistry in the south end. First Hill Dental Implant Center was created to address the same needs in an ideal location for the entire Puget Sound region.



Dr. Kang is married to Dr. Katie Kim and they have two sons - Michael, who is one year old and Marcus, who joined the family in August 2009. Dr. Kang enjoys spending time with family, learning about technology, and advancing both patients and doctors understanding of implant dentistry.
